Wedding FAQ

We are super awkward in front of the camera. Can you help?

This is the most common thing I hear! Don't worry, you do not need to be a professional model. I won't leave you hanging with "okay, smile!" I will guide you through every moment with prompts that get you moving, laughing, and interacting naturally. My goal is to capture the connection between you two, not a stiff pose. You just focus on each other, and I’ll handle the angles.

How many photos do we get?

I guarantee a minimum of 50 images per hour of coverage. However, I don't believe in capping your memories! You will receive every single image that turns out—if it’s a good moment, it’s yours. I edit and deliver everything that meets my quality standards, so you often end up with many more than the minimum.

Have you shot at my venue before? If not, will you visit it?

I have shot at many venues across the KC metro, but if I haven't been to yours, don't worry! I always arrive early on the wedding day to scout the best lighting and locations. Light changes drastically depending on the time of day and season, so scouting on the actual day is much more effective than visiting weeks in advance!

How do we get our photos?

I will send a link to your private online gallery via our main method of communication (whether that's email, text, or DM). From there, you can easily view, share, and download all your high-resolution images directly to your device!

Do we really need an engagement session?

I highly recommend it! Think of the engagement session as a "practice run" for the wedding day. It’s a low-pressure way for us to get to know each other and for you to get comfortable in front of my camera. By the time the wedding day comes, you’ll be pros, and we’ll already have a shorthand for posing that saves us time!

What's your turn around time for weddings?

My standard turnaround time for a full wedding gallery is 4–6 weeks. I always strive to get them back to you sooner because I know how excited you are! However, during peak wedding season (when I am shooting back-to-back weekends), it may take the full time or slightly longer to ensure every image gets the attention it deserves. I promise to keep you updated on the progress!

How do we book you?

I would love to be the one to tell your story. To book your session, simply head over to the Contact tab and drop me a note. Let me know you are planning a wedding. I’ll get back to you shortly so we can start planning a day that is stress-free, fun, and entirely about you.

Do you recommend an "Unplugged Ceremony"?

Yes, 100%! An "unplugged ceremony" means asking guests to put away their phones and cameras so they can be fully present with you. This ensures that when you look out at your guests, you see their smiling faces, not a sea of iPhones. It also prevents well-meaning relatives from accidentally stepping into the aisle and blocking my shot of your first kiss! But this is your day and I will support you in whatever you want!!

Do I need a second shooter?

Good news—I actually include a second photographer for your ceremony automatically! This ensures we capture both your reaction and your partner's reaction during the most important moment. For the rest of the day, I comfortably shoot solo. However, if you have a large guest list (150+), a tight timeline, or getting-ready locations that are miles apart, I highly recommend upgrading to have a second shooter for the full day. We can chat about what fits your wedding best during our consult!

What if you get sick or if you can't come?

Please know that I do not take canceling lightly—I have powered through sickness in the past to ensure my couples were taken care of! That said, life can be unpredictable. If somthing prevents me from being there, I will not leave you stranded. I have a list of trusted, experienced photographers I can call on to step in on my behalf, so your day will be documented beautifuly no matter what.

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes, I am fully insured. If your venue requires a Certificate of Insurance (COI), just let me know a few weeks in advance, and I would be happy to send that over to them!

Do you bring backup equipment?

Absolutely. I always carry backup cameras, lenses, memory cards, and batteries. Technology can be unpredictable, but I come prepared for anything so that a gear malfunction never stops the show.

Do we need to provide a meal for you at the reception?

Yes, please! Weddings are marathon days, and to keep my energy up for the dance floor photos, I require a hot meal during your reception dinner. I usually eat at the same time as the bride and groom (since no one likes photos of themselves eating!) so that I am finished and ready to go as soon as the toasts begin.

Will you help us create a wedding day timeline?

Yes, absolutely! A solid timeline is the secret to a stress-free wedding. and it is included in all packages. After we book, we will sit down (or hop on a call) to build a timeline that flows perfectly. We’ll make sure there is plenty of buffer time so you never feel rushed, and we’ll carve out the perfect lighting times for those dreamy sunset portraits.

How many photos will we receive?

I guarantee a minimum of 50 images per hour of coverage. However, I don't believe in capping your memories! You will receive every single image that turns out—if it’s a good moment, it’s yours. I edit and deliver everything that meets my quality standards, so you often end up with many more than the minimum.

When should we schedule our shoot?

For the most ideal lighting, I love to shoot about 1-2 hours before sunset. This gives us that dreamy, soft glow. That said, it is definitely not required! If that time doesn't work for your family's schedule, don't worry—we can shoot at other times of the day. We'll just look for a spot with nice, even shade to ensure your photos still look amazing.

How many photos do we get?

The number of images depends on which session you choose, and you can find those specific counts listed next to each package on my pricing page. However, if you are looking for something different—like a smaller collection or just a few specific shots—please let me know! I am happy to create a custom package that fits exactly what you need.

I will send a link to your private online gallery via our main method of communication (whether that's email, text, or DM). From there, you can easily view, share, and download all your high-resolution images directly to your device!

Do you retouch photos?

All your images will be professionally edited for lighting, color, and contrast to match my signature style. I focus on natural, timeless edits and do not alter body shapes or heavy-handedly smooth skin. If you are looking for extensive retouching beyond my standard edit, please let me know when we book, and we can discuss a custom quote for those additional needs.

Whats your turn around time?

You can expect your full gallery within 2-3 weeks. I often beat this timeline, though it may be slightly longer during busy times of the year. I believe in open communication, so please don't hesitate to message me if you have questions about your photos! I also offer express delivery if needed!

How do we book you?

Ready to Capture Your "Wildly" Beautiful Life?
I would love to be the one to tell your story. To book your session, simply head over to the Contact tab and drop me a note. Let me know if you are planning a wedding, expecting a little one, or updating your family portraits. I’ll get back to you shortly so we can start planning a day that is stress-free, fun, and entirely about you.

Can you help us with planning?

Absolutely. I love the planning process! To ensure your experience is stress-free, I assist with every step: location scouting, outfit advice, and full posing guidance during our shoot. I take care of the "nitty-gritty" so you can focus on having fun with your family.

How far out do you book?

For weekend dates, it's best to book 2 months out to guarantee your spot. That said, I don't always fill every single date, so please send me a message! If I have an opening, I will absolutely get you on the calendar.

Can I bring grandparents or cousins to our session?

I love extended family sessions! However, my standard family session pricing is designed for immediate family members (parents + children). If you would like to include grandparents, cousins, or the whole crew, please let me know! I have a specific Extended Family option that allows extra time to make sure we get great shots of the whole big group.

What should we wear?

For the best results, stick to creams, neutrals, and soft blues. If you want more color, opt for blush pink or sage green, but please avoid vibrant shades like bright red, orange, or yellow. I highly recommend adding texture with layers and thick knits, and following the "3-to-1 Rule"—aim for three solid items for every one patterned item to keep your photos looking cohesive and timeless. Ask me about my client closet!
